Lake Powell 2008

I can't believe that this is Everett's 3rd year at Lake Powell! It was fun to watch Evers be SO excited to do some of the activities Lake Powell has to offer. Everett didn't even put up 1 fuss about wearing his life jacket..YES!! Probably cuz he knew that anytime we were putting it on him he was about to do something that he wanted to do...get in the water or go on a boat ride!!!Reis was just along for the ride! He had a good time just doing whatever. Both boys did GREAT!!

Evers, aka mini-Bryan, wanted to do or go anywhere that daddy was. So, that included fishing. I didn't even think to get Evers a fishing pole...but he didn't care he just used one of daddy's big poles and would pretend to cast out. Daddy even gave him a lure to play with, which I think he thought was a real fish. Reis was having his own fun playing with empty water bottles and eating grandpa's chips!Evers LOVED the water. So, poor Bryan had to get in the water LOTS of times on demand (mommy didn't want to deal with the sharks in the water...I mean she had to take care of Reis :-) ) Evers even went down the water slide 2 times...so brave!! The first time he just jumped on the slide while I was waiting in the water scared for my little boy, which he had NO fear whatsoever, and Bryan had to grab him so they could go down together. Bryan and I didn't coordinate so well...they came down the slide and all this water went in my face and all I hear is "grab Evers" and I look over and his face was in the water. So, he was a little hesitant the 2nd time but we changed things up and Evers went down with mommy for daddy to catch him.Reis liked the water too...he just prefered to be in the little kiddie pool at our friends boat much better! Here are the 3 boys born in the same year already playing together!! Maybe they will grow up to be good friends just like their daddy's did growing up. This is only the beginning!!! Bryan and Garett blew up the tube in the house boat and the kids couldn't wait to get in it...they didn't know what fun was to come, that it actually went in the water!! Garet took both the boys for a tube ride....look what he started :-) Evers (and Easton) loved having his feet drag through the water and being bounced up and down on the tube. I didn't dare take him on a tube ride after that cuz that is what he wanted to do, the fun tricks that Garet did to him!!

Reis like the boat alot...so much that he would fall asleep everytime we went for a boat ride!Evers didn't nap all week!!!! AHHHHHH!! But towards the evening when you didn't want him to sleep cuz it was too close to early bedtime but wanting him to nap cuz you knew he needed one....well, if we were on the boat at the end of the day he would fall asleep.
Grandpa preparing to shave his head and he came out to scare the boys...they LOVED it!!!
Bryan and Garet went scuba diving on Father's Day while grandpa, Evers, Reis, Easton and I went along for a boat ride. The boys had a good time...Reis with his water bottle and the boys ate pop tarts to keep them occupied. Garet speared a tiny fish and brought on the boat for the boys to look at. Easton was enthralled by it...Evers not so much!!

Later that day, our friends from 2 coves over stopped by. This is our attempt to get a pic of all the kids....go figure, when you want them to pose they just want to throw a fit!!
Then we got a pic of all the daddy's with their kids. Look at all those boys (and one cute little girl...hopefully she will start off a girl trend...at least for my friends..NOT me right now!!!) I think it is SO cool that Bryan still has close friends that we keep in touch with from when he grew up as a little boy. TOO bad we don't live close to each other.
So a trip would not be complete with our friends if there wasn't a BOYS vs GIRLS game night. I really enjoyed hanging out with them and playing games...even though us girls got spanked on EVERY game we played!!!!

Who needs toys when you got wrappers!!!

Every meal time Reis looked like this!!! He doesn't like to eat so it is a battle field when we are done!!!

Thanks Bill for another fun year at Lake Powell. Sharee, thanks so much for coming! It was SO much fun...next year?!?! Also, I wanted to make a shout out to Ashley and Shawn....WE MISSED YOU TERRIBLY. Can't wait to see you guys next week though!!

Random picks from the weekend

Friday was the day to pick up the grandma's from the airport. They were at 2 completly different times, so we made a day of it up in SLC. It was fun. The kids got up early and we headed to pick up grandma #1 (my mom) and then went to McD's for breakfast. Then we went to Tai Pan to do a little shopping..this is what Evers thought of the whole experience...BORING!!

I had some errands to run...return some things to Layers and get Evers a hat (we lost his at the zoo). Grandma spoiled Evers and got him some sunglasses. What a cool dud!! He wore those all through the mall. He had fun riding UP and DOWN the escalator AND throwing grandma's change into the fountain. Then we went to Cafe Rio..YUM YUM and then headed to pick up grandma #2...Nana. Evers and Reis did a great job going with the flow. It was such a fun day...expecially cuz we got to see the grandma's!! That night at bath time daddy let Evers bring HIS baby in the bathtub. Evers undressed him and everything. Here he is pouring water over him just like mommy and daddy do to their babies. He did a very good job getting his baby clean.
He even gave baby toys to play with...and dunked him in the water face down!
Evers likes be in the bathroom when mommy is putting on her makeup. He will put mascara on his forhead, blush all over his face, and TODAY he put gloss on his lips... oh, my beautiful boy!!
It was SO cute cuz Everett knows and calls SuzAnne Nana and calls my mom Grandma...what a smart boy. Also, Grandma has successfully brainwashed another grandbaby. She likes to ask her grandchildren "Who loves you the mostest?" and she gets them to say "Grandma does." Well it was a success on her part, Everett says "Grandma"...thanks mom :-)

Feeding the Ducks

So, June 9th is his actual birthday. Pretty low key day. When daddy got home we went for a walk and fed the ducks. Everett just loves animals! Everett decided to take matters into his own hands by getting his own bread to throw. We had to really watch Everett and hold on to his shirt so he wouldn't fall into the water. He has no concept of the edge!

Sweets Time

My little boy is 2!!! Wow how time flies. Really Everett didn't have just a birthDAY it was more like a birthWEEKEND!!! He was so spoiled by the grandmas!! I hope he doesn't expect this every year! Everett LOVES the hose/water. He thought it was funny to spray us with the hose...such control!!

Photo shoot with Nana. More like Everett going down the slide and running into Nana and Reis which made Evers very happy...any way we could get the photo op!

Evers couldn't wait to sink his teeth into his bday cake. By the way it is supposed to be a tractor!

Which is exactly what he did...who needs a fork anyways...it is just for show!!
Lovin it!!
Even Reiser got in on the action. Daddy fed him his 1st sweets...icecream and cake! Ashley and Shawn...notice the shirt? We opened up the package and he immediatley started pulling up his shirt, he wanted it OFF to put on his new YO GABBA GABBA shirt. Thanks, it is WAY cute!
Evers got a train set which he can't get enough of ... he even sleeps with some of the cars. Reis wanted in on it to...he has the bow on his little bum bum!
Evers got a water table and a slide from Nana....but he decided to climb on in. We were outside and he wanted his shirt off, which I thought was odd cuz he likes to have his clothes on. The next thing I knew he was taking off his shorts and diaper. He was buck naked and climbed onto the water table...guess it is his personal bath too:-) The kids had just as much fun playing with the box as they did the actual toy!!!

Thanks grandma and nana for coming and spoiling the kids!! I just can't get over the fact that Evers is already 2 (even though he has been acting the age for the last few months). He is such a joy in our lives. He keeps us laughing!!! We LOVE you Everett. Happy Birthday bud!!

Farm Country

Grandma and Nana came into town to help us celebrate Everett's 2nd birthday. We celebrated a couple days early and went to a place called Farm Country which is at Thanksgiving Point. The kids loved it.

Everett wasn't too sure about riding the pony, so we put Reis on and he had so much fun for a few times around and then he was DONE! Then of course Everett wanted a turn since brother did it :-)The grandmas with a super happy boy!!!Grandma and Everett on the wagon ride. Reis liked the wagon ride as well...he fell asleep!

Reis wouldn't let go of the rabbit cage...he thought it was pretty cool.
While there, Bryan ran into an old friend from Colorado who has a couple of kids and before we knew it they were off together sitting at this picnic table. They had a lot of fun eating running around and seeing the animals. It is neat to see Everett wanting to play with other kids. I absolutely LOVE this picture cuz Everett is such a LITTLE Bryan!!! heaven help us :-)

I was really impressed with Farm Country. It is great for little kids! It is definitely a place I will go again!!
